The Highest Village Shop in Britain. A tollhouse and gate called Flash Bar were built here in 1771.
Recognised by the Ordnance Survey as the highest altitude village in the United Kingdom, at over 1500ft, Flash is at the southern end of Axe Edge on the main A53 road to Leek, in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
