Birmingham (Burr-ming-um) is a city and metropolitan borough in the West Midlands county of England. Birmingham is the largest of England's core cities, and is often considered to be Birmingham started life in the 6th century as an Anglo-Saxon farming hamlet on the banks of the River Rea.
