Gressoney-La-Trinité is a town and comune in the Aosta Valley region of north-western Italy. Geography: At an altitude of 1,635 m Gressoney La Trinitè is the highest village in the Lys Valley. History: The area was settled by the Walser people from the Vallais. They left behind characteristic "Walser houses", or "stadel", buildings made of wood and stone sitting on short mushroom-shaped pillars. Accommodation and Entertainment: There are 9 hotels, 1 B&B, 5 residences, 17 bars, 6 alpine refuges, of which, 4 are at an altitude of more than 3,600m and 6 restaurants Sports and Relax facilities: Gressoney La Trinitè is renowned both for winter sports and for the many routes up Monte Rosa. You can put on your skis and ski through the three valleys of the Monte Rosa Ski area, down more than 200 km of slopes, catering for all tastes.
