St. Wolfgang is a holiday town in the Salzkammergut region of Upper Austria, on the north side of Wolfgangsee, at the foot of the Schafberg mountain. During the winter it is a popular skiing holiday destination. Its church, located in the centre of the town, is over 1,000 years old. As of 2004, it has a population of 2,778. St. Wolfgang is the setting of the musical comedy "White Horse Inn". History: During World War II, a subcamp of Dachau concentration camp was located here.
