Harzgerode is a municipality in the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Unterharz of the district of Harz in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Its localities include: *Harzgerode *Alexisbad *Mägdesprung *Silberhütte Harzgerode lies in the eastern part of the Harz mountains, south of Quedlinburg. It is connected to Gernrode by a narrow gauge railroad called Selketalbahn. History: Harzgerode received municipal rights in 1338.
