Atqasuk is a city in North Slope Borough, Alaska, United States. At the 2000 census the population was 228. Geography: Atqasuk is located at (70.477663, -157.418056). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 42.3 square miles (109.7 km²), of which, 38.9 square miles (100.7 km²) of it is land and 3.5 square miles (9.0 km²) of it (8.22%) is water. Demographics: As of the census of 2000, there were 228 people, 55 households, and 44 families residing in the city. The population density was 5.9 people per square mile (2.3/km²). There were 60 housing units at an average density of 1.5/sq mi (0.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 4.82% White, 94.30% Native American, 0.44% Asian, and 0.44% from two or more races.
